Despite pain love finds a way in North Carolina.

On a cold day in January in 2014, a house burned down. In that house was Russell the cat, presumed dead. Four days later, he was miraculously found, suffering from second and third degree burns over much of his body.

As he recovered from burns on his face, ears and body, Russell started befriending other animals that were suffering and undergoing treatments. He has spent the last year and a half at a veterinary clinic, helping other animals in their pain. He has helped dogs, a deer, even a squirrel. What made him want to love and help and other animals?
