Can art erase the stigma of mental illness?

Many people who suffer from mental illness are sometimes afraid to seek help. Not only do they worry about people labeling and judging them, they fear repercussions in the workplace and in personal relationships.

In eight states, people who have experienced a mental health challenge or live with one have found healing, transformation and hope after their stories were combined with an artist’s visual interpretation. They have discovered art is indeed erasing the stigma of mental illness.
